When it comes to glass shower doors, the options are endless! There is a wide variety of options for everything from door opening style to glass type, which can be stressful to some, but all of us at AAA Glass will be there for you every step of the way!
Here are a few things that you should take into consideration when choosing the perfect shower door:
Framed of Frameless
Most all shower doors come in either framed or frameless options. A framed shower door comes with aluminum or some other material that frames the glass panel. Framed glass doors only open inward, so make sure to take that into consideration when you start looking. Most all framed doors come with a track that collects water and will need regular cleaning.
Frameless shower doors come with heavy-duty glass supported by pivots. Most homeowners these days go with the frameless option as there are many to choose from and there are more customization options, too. Frameless shower doors can open both inward and outward and are easier to clean and maintain then framed doors. In our opinion, they provide a more modern aesthetic.
Glass Types
Clear: Traditional shower doors use clear glass, which is easy to maintain and allows all light to pass through.
Frosted: A frosted shower door provides a little more privacy. It has a satin like appearance that allows only soft light to pass through. One side will have an etched pattern and the other side is smooth.
Cast: Cast glass is visually striking, has three-dimensional character and provides a stunning alternative to traditional glass. It will truly make your shower the focal point of the bathroom
